Clocks- 2 (Two): (1) Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., "Newark" City Series shelf clock with a spring driven 8 day time with Winward's (British) patent alarm in a walnut case; c1896. (2) Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., "Chicago" City Series shelf clock with a spring driven 8 day time and strike movement in a rosewood veneered case. c1890.
CONDITION:
(1) The case is in excellent condition with a nice original finish. The original paper dial is in good condition with some aging. The hands are original. The movement is signed. The door glass and stenciled design are original. Winward's patent converts the striking train into an alarm. (2) The case is in very good condition with original finish and no veneer loss. The original painted dial shows some restoration. The hands are original. The door glasses appear to be original with some re- backing to the lower glass. The movement is signed. ***NOTE*** The dimensions are for clock number one(1) .
